BILL FOR DIVORCE

THE STATE OF ARKANSAS

COUNTY OF CARROLL

In the Circuit Court of said County, on the Chancery side thereof – in vacation: August 11, 1859

CAROLINE HODGE, by her next friend, Euel Roper – Complainant

Vs.

WASHINGTON HODGE – defendant

On this day comes said complaintant by her next friend, Euel Roper, and files her Bill against said defendant with her affidavit annexed there to, that said defendant is a non-resident of the state of Arkansas; and on motion it is ordered that said defendant be and is hereby notified of the pendency of this suit, the object of which is to dissolve the bonds of matrimony now existing between said complainant and defendant; and it is further ordered that said Washington Hodge be and appear before the judge of our next circuit court in Chancery sitting, on or before the fourth day of the next term there of, add a court to be held at the courthouse in and for said County of Carroll, on the fifth Monday after the fourth Monday in August 1859; then and there to plead answer or demure to said complaint’s bill or the same will be taken as confessed and the decree entered accordingly; and that this order be published in the Arkansian, and newspaper in Washington County State of Arkansas for two weeks successively, the last insertion to be at least four weeks before the first day of the next term of this court.
